Improving Learning and Classroom Engagement:
Whiteboard Replacement for Bishop Crowther Memorial Primary School, Bariga, Lagos
For years, classrooms at Bishop Crowther Memorial Primary School were filled with cracked, chipped, and badly worn whiteboards — surfaces so damaged that pupils could barely see what was written. Lessons that should have been simple became difficult. Children were easily distracted, straining to read faint markings, while teachers grew frustrated, often forced to repeat themselves or abandon written explanations altogether. The learning experience suffered, and classroom engagement slowly declined.
This project was launched to restore clarity, focus, and dignity to the teaching and learning environment by replacing the broken boards with durable, functional whiteboards that support effective classroom instruction for over 200 pupils.
The transformation was immediate.
As the old boards were taken down, pupils gathered around with curiosity and excitement. Some even offered to help remove and carry the boards — eager for the change they knew was coming. And when the new whiteboards were mounted, their faces lit up.
Teachers reported that writing felt easier again. Pupils could finally see clearly. Engagement spiked. Attention improved. The classroom energy shifted almost overnight.
Today, the difference is visible in every lesson.
Children are more attentive, teachers feel supported, and learning once again feels accessible and enjoyable. A simple classroom upgrade has renewed the sense of possibility within the school.
The Whiteboard Replacement Project is a reminder that meaningful impact doesn't always come from grand interventions — sometimes, it comes from restoring the tools that bring learning to life.
